Picdar to integrate complementary Quark publishing technologies
AMSTERDAM (IFRAExpo 06) — October 11, 2006 — Quark Inc. announced today that it has entered
into a strategic agreement with Picdar, a leading supplier of digital-asset management solutions,
to integrate the companies’ complementary and award-winning publishing workflow technologies.
Picdar has been at the forefront of the mass image and digital-asset storage market for
the past 20 years. Today a diverse range of organisations, including the majority of UK newspapers
and magazine publishers, use Picdar’s Media Mogul content management technology to control
and manage their entire production workflow process. Like Picdar’s Media Mogul, Quark Publishing
System (QPS) is based on open-standards technology and is also used worldwide by newspaper
publishers. The similarities between the products and companies’ goals provided a strong
foundation for forming this strategic partnership.
Both Quark and Picdar recognise the synergy that exists between the companies; both are
dedicated to providing innovative workflow solutions and with the announcement of the nextgeneration
technology from Quark, an ideal opportunity to cement this relationship presented
itself. The next generation of QPS is based on modern industry-standard technologies, making it
platform independent, database independent, scalable, and easy to integrate and implement.
