The demand for popular art continues to grow unabated. More people want art in more variable ways than ever before. To even begin to manage this demand, The Art Group had to create and manage every image entrusted to it as a digital asset in multiple forms. Aside from the huge volume of assets, upwards of 50,000 already being managed by The Art Group, each asset has a catalogue of unique information associated to it, which made the management and tracking of image usage complex and time-consuming.
As the company's ambition to supply wider markets in more variable ways has grown, so has its need to manage its assets with greater control and efficiency. It therefore approached Picdar to solve its asset management challenges. With the system, The Art Group is able to manage and maintain quality control, usage and the rights management of every image in its care from the day a new image arrives to the point at which it is sold in whatever form the customer wants it.
Ann Viney, rights director of the The Art Group, says: "Media Mogul has proved to be extremely successful in centralizing all our assets within a user friendly interface. We've been very pleased at the flexibility of the database and it's made a very positive impact within the company.
"We're now developing further web-based components to allow us to interface more directly with our clients and to integrate with other core software. The team at Picdar have proven they are adept at problem-solving, especially for the everchanging requirements of our fast-paced environment."
